Yes. This is in fact ANOTHER boot comparison.
I heard about a boot that comes small enough for the larger minis and the small ponies - the Flex Boot - and HAD to purchase a pair for Zorro.
We've been using them for about a month now and so far so good! I really like how easy they are to put on. They seem to be comfortable for Zorro. He hasn't had a rub from them yet!
We've walked on the road, he goes down into the irrigation ditch to drink and to graze along the edge. We've hiked in the mountains with them, in deep mud, and snow, and another time in dry conditions. No rubs either time!
We've driven in them, walk/trot/canter/gallop. They stayed on. No twisting.
The smallest size, 80, is a little too big for Oliver yet. I am hoping his feet grow a bit more and then they will fit him perfectly!
Zorro wears the 85s on his front feet and the 80s on his hind feet. I do have pads in all four boots. I use the Easy Care 6mm black Comfort Pads in my boots. I like that it offers a bit more shock absorption and they help take up a little space in the boot if there is some. These are my go-to pads.
I have found out that Flex Boot offers their own pads as well. They seem similar to the Comfort Pads but are pre-cut to fit inside the boot.
Another little tip, the Flex Boot can be customized. You can get the 85s with the extra small gaitor, heel strap and boot straps. I HIGHLY recommend this if the 85 is a touch too big. Again, Zorro hasn't lost a boot and they don't twist but I know they would fit just a bit better with the shorter straps. I do plan on purchasing them.
Here is the video I made showing some of the differences. I also put the boots on and take them off for you!
If you have any other questions about ANY of the boots I've used please don't hesitate to reach out. You can email me at mindyponyprincess@gmail.com. If I need to make another video I will!
And I'll leave you with this adorable photo of Oliver's white streak in his forelock. I think it makes him look like a punk rocker!!
